Indoor play centres across Hong Kong for rainy days

Indoor play centres across Hong Kong for rainy days

When rain or heat keeps the family inside, an indoor play centre gives children somewhere to play under cover. This guide covers six venues in Kowloon and the New Territories. Choose by where you live, what kind of play your children like, and each venue's rules on socks, food and booking.

Super Sports Park, Tai Kok Tsui

Super Sports Park has 50,000 sq ft of sports and play for families and friends. It is in Tai Kok Tsui in Kowloon.

It has its own cafe, SSP Cafe, where you can sit down for something to eat with a view of the harbour. As well as family visits, it takes birthday parties and group visits such as team building and school trips.

EpicLand, Kai Tak

EpicLand 歷奇王國 Hong Kong is on the 4th floor of Retail Mall 2 at Kai Tak Sports Park and can be reached by MTR. The space has a V-shaped layout with four themed game zones.

  • The Party Terminal has four separate party rooms that can be combined for bigger celebrations.
  • The laser tag party game needs at least six players before it starts.
  • There are gymnastics and fitness classes for kids and teens, and a BallroomBees dance programme for children.
  • Shoes come off before you enter the play areas.
  • School holiday schedules follow the local and ESF/international school calendars.

Kiztopia New Town Plaza, Sha Tin

Kiztopia New Town Plaza is reached from Sha Tin Station Exit A3 on the East Rail Line, or by several bus routes. It has parking and is pram friendly.

There are 15 play areas, each designed to help little ones develop and discover their strengths. The venue is also used for school visits and learning activities.

  • Anti-slip socks are required for admission.
  • Outside food and drink are not allowed, except baby formula and milk.
  • You do not need to book ahead, as long as the park is open and has space.
  • There are no lockers provided, but there are storage shelves for guests. Do not leave valuables on them.
  • Birthday party packages include party games, decorations, food and play time.

KINGDOM, Tuen Mun

KINGDOM is on the 2nd floor of Kin Sang Shopping Centre in Tuen Mun, next to the Wellcome supermarket. It is indoors.

The house rules are strict, so read them before you set off:

  • Everyone going in must wear socks, for hygiene and safety.
  • Do not bring dangerous items, lanyards, long necklaces, scarves, sharp objects, food or drinks.
  • Eating and drinking are not allowed inside, and neither are pets.
  • Every child must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. A child without an adult will be refused entry.
  • You can arrive slightly early for your booking, but if you are too late the booking is cancelled.

CHILDLIKE, Tsuen Wan

CHILDLIKE is on the ground floor of Discovery Park in Tsuen Wan. It is indoors and has 8,000 square feet with 18 themed zones.

  • Classic play: a ball pool, sand pool, slides, a maze area, trampolines, a carousel and a slide track.
  • An MR (mixed reality) interactive zone and a small boat drifting ride.
  • Pretend play: a dress-up stage, plus a police station, fire station, supermarket, kitchen and princess room.

Robocar POLI Playhouse, Tseung Kwan O

Robocar POLI Playhouse is authorised by ROI VISUAL. The zones are named after the characters, including Poli's Mechanic Workshop, Amber's Clinic, Roy's Power Training Zone and Jin's Creative Kitchen.

Play runs in fixed timed sessions, not open all-day entry. No food or drinks are allowed inside the Playhouse area. Eating is kept to the separate party place.

Birthday parties come in three packages, Basic, Fun Play and Wonderland, and there is a party room. Party reservations must be made at least seven working days in advance.

Before you go

  • Pack socks. Kiztopia requires anti-slip socks and KINGDOM requires socks for every visitor. At EpicLand, shoes come off before the play areas.
  • Plan meals around the rules. Kiztopia does not allow outside food and drink apart from baby formula and milk. KINGDOM and Robocar POLI Playhouse do not allow eating or drinking in the play area. Super Sports Park has a cafe on site.
  • Check how entry works. Kiztopia needs no advance booking if there is space. KINGDOM cancels bookings for late arrivals. Robocar POLI Playhouse runs timed sessions.
  • At KINGDOM, each child must have an adult aged 18 or over with them.
  • Coming by car or with a pram: Kiztopia and EpicLand both have parking, and Kiztopia is pram friendly.
  • For a birthday, Super Sports Park, EpicLand, Kiztopia and Robocar POLI Playhouse all host parties.
