Indoor public pool complex with a 0.9–1.2m shallow pool and a 1.4m deeper pool. Heated during winter months. Well-ventilated hall with organised changing rooms. Not standard lap-pool length — both pools are roughly square in layout.

Great swimming pool

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children at different swimming levels who need separate pool depths in one visit. The winter heating makes it a year-round option on Hong Kong Island east. Serious lap swimmers will find the square pool dimensions restrictive. Expect lesson activity to occupy portions of both pools during peak hours.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Take a bus rather than the MTR — the pool is not on the Island Line
Visit outside lesson peak hours for more free-swim space in both pools
🎟️The 0.9–1.2m pool suits children remains building water confidence
🚗Bring your own goggles — underwater visibility is reduced by lower lighting levels

Great swimming pool

The sport complex where the swimming pool is located is very well facilitated. The swimming pool as a whole is spacious with good ventilation. There are two separate pools at upper level, one with 0.9-1.2m water depth, the another one with 1.4m water depth. Water quality is very good. Changing room is well organized and easy to access. Since it is not closed to the Island Line, the easiest transportation would be by bus.

Two swimming pools, but sadly that both are not standard length (kind of square size). Another problem is that the lighting is insufficient, which makes the under water visibility is low. One should follow the lighting similar to Morrison Hill swimming pool for best practice. The shower is good, higher water pressure and amount than the new Victoria Park swimming pool but not as much (waste) as those in Morrison Hill swimming pool. Location-wise, it depends, as it is on the far east part of HK island where there's no MTR coverage. One has to take 47M minibus or bus from Chai Wan MTR or elsewhere. Funny that there's already another outdoor swimming pool which is just less than 2km away.

It’s OK and just a little bit crowded. The depths are suitable and the water temperature is also suitable, but there are too many coaches teaching kids to swim.

Overview

Siu Sai Wan Swimming Pool runs two separate pools at different depths: 0.9–1.2m for weaker swimmers and 1.4m for stronger ones. The facility heats the water during winter and maintains good ventilation throughout the hall. Changing rooms are well-organised. Lighting has been flagged as insufficient by some swimmers, reducing underwater visibility. Both pools are non-standard square dimensions rather than regulation lap lengths.
