The museum was excellent and a great value at just $3. It was my first visit where I felt the price was truly justified. The space was very clean, and the amenities were impressive, including restrooms, artwork, vessels, and a marine traffic display for locating ships in the harbor. There was even a telescope available for free to enjoy the view. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The layout of the museum was well thought out, making it easy to navigate and appreciate the exhibits. Each display was thoughtfully curated, showcasing a variety of marine artifacts that highlighted the area's rich maritime history. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, readily available to answer questions and provide insights. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed for a relaxed exploration of the exhibits without feeling rushed. The telescope was a delightful addition, offering a chance to take in the beautiful surroundings and watch the boats come and go. I left feeling enriched by the experience and eager to return, especially considering the affordable admission fee. Overall, it was a memorable visit that exceeded my expectations.
๐ Family Action Verdict
Best for children aged 5 and up with curiosity about ships, trade, or Hong Kong history. The live marine traffic display and free telescope keep younger children engaged beyond the exhibits. Compact enough to complete in under two hours. Ferry access from other piers makes it a natural add-on to a waterfront day.

โGreat museum. It tells the full story of Hong Kong, including its port and maritime history, and features many exhibits such as ship models and other artifacts. There is also an entire section dedicated to nature conservation and marine protection. For about 3โ4 US$\Euros, itโs a nice activity if you have some extra time in the city.โ

โA must-visit if you're into maritime histories. The venue is clean and well air-conditioned. Toilet also available. The price is very reasonable for $30HKD. There were a good collection of Chinese artifacts and ship models. Quite a detailed information of Chinese naval histories and Hong Kong habours. The venue also has a good view into the Victoria Harbour. Convenient to access it you're also catching ferry to the other side of Hong Kong Island. Main entrance is located upstairs on 1st floor.โ

โVery educational. Learned a lot about the development of, not just HK, but the greater bay area. Many boat models on display!โ
