1 / 4Pao Yue Kong Swimming Pool
📍 Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong Island
Public swimming complex with approximately seven pools including dedicated children's pools, both indoor and outdoor areas. Built in the 1980s — facilities show age. Some pools may be closed due to lifeguard shortages on any given day.
Clean changing rooms, helpful staff, and multiple pools meaning lots of space to swim without feeling too crowded. Only problem is some of the lockers are broken. Overall a good public pool and highly recommend.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of mixed swimming abilities — the dedicated children's pools suit beginners and toddlers, and the multiple main pools give space to stronger swimmers. Check pool availability before travelling; not all pools are open on every session day due to lifeguard shortages.

“Bliss! An exceptionally lovely sunny Sunday. 33°C, blue sky, not too humid. And we hadn't been swimming since last summer. Our local pool is the Victoria Park Swimming Pool. But that's indoors and it seemed such a waste to be in that foetid atmosphere on such a glorious day. After a little research, we settled on an "expotition" to Wong Hang Chuk. Neither of us had been there, but there was a convenient bus. So we grabbed the essential gear and headed out. Lo and behold, an oldish complex, but very clean, well maintained with helpful staff.....and only about 10 people in an Olympic size pool. The muscles are a little sore tonight, but the bliss of sun, blue sky, clear sparkling water, not a child in sight, and blessed silence repays every twinge. Oh! And I'm not recommending it because I don't want all HK crowding in and spoiling my bliss!🙃🙃🤣”

“Public swimming pool built in the 80s and facilities are old date and wear out. Like the open outdoor pool and have children pools so kids can enjoy. Have around 7 pools but not of them are open due to shortage of lifeguard.”

“Changing room capacity and facility is needed to be improved. But it is a good place for people of cooling off or training practice.”
