There were two huge banners outside the museum promoting two exhibitions. I thought there were only two exhibitions in the museum. In fact there were at least six exhibitions running at the same time, all free of charge. The topics of the exhibition varies from classic Chinese classic arts to modern Hong Kong culture / films. Could spend a day if I browse through all of them in depth.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

An excellent free cultural destination where families can explore Hong Kong's heritage through engaging exhibitions and dedicated children's areas.

Bruce Lee's 85th Anniversary The exhibition is going to finish until this year (2026)summer. The specific finishing date is not announced. Gotta be quick before the exhibition is over! The entry is free. No photo is allowed inside. But the famous yellow jumpsuit from the Game of Death movie would be here as one of the displays. There is a mini Bruce Lee exhibition in the MTR Central station(exit J). It's in the Hong Kong Island District. I think this mini exhibition will end with the exhibition of the HK Heritage Museum. I know it's a bit too far away for you to tribute the super Kung Fu master. To maximise your journey, I suggest to catch a train to Guangzhou to visit Bruce Lee's ancestral House. I reckon the next Bruce Lee exhibition maybe be the 90th or 100th anniversary. The exhibition is not 24/7. Limited time only. Good luck to your Asian Journey!

While I am here in Hong Kong, I wanted to take the opportunity to visit the HK Heritage Museum. It's been a few years since I was last here, but it very memorable as we came to see the Bruce Lee exhibition. I know over the years this has become a regular fixture and they have added more to exhibition with more artefacts and insight into his life in the movies and personal life. The main reason for coming was to see the Jin Yong Exhibition into his literature work and his influence in TV and Movies over the generations. What a fascinating exhibition, well worth time to explore his work and influneces to popular culture around the world. There was also an exhibition on HK Pop Culture which was also excellent, with real physical awards, costumes, LPs all depicting HK popular culture. There was also very good exhibitions on Buddhism, History of Chinese Opera and famous Chinese Artists. and many treasures on shows. It is shame that you arent allow to take photos or videos in any of the exhibitions. I understand the trademark and copyright topic, but the flip side is that you will definitely encourage more people to come if they knew what was on shows. Anyway, I had a great time and good couple of hours visiting each of the exhibitions. If you are in HK and want a free activity to do, get yourself over to Statin and it is walk thru the shopping mall and outside and follow the signs to the Museum. Ignore the previous review it being dodgy route!! rubbish, ok you walk thru an underpass it is well lit and sign poster and plenty of people around, so don't let that deter you from going. Go and enjoy this free attraction in Hong Kong!!

Amazing place‼︎ If you like HK culture, have to go there. You can see 4-5 kinds of exhibitions and everything is free right now! Especially, Bruce Lee's exhibition was great.(I dropped tears... a little bit.) The museum shop was absolutely amazing too! Old stamps and Hong kong souvenirs are there.
