You can walk amongst the birds inside the mesh tent. Pretty cool experience. Be aware of its 9-5 operating hours though! Itโ€™s shorter than most other HK attractions. And itโ€™s free!!

๐Ÿ† Family Action Verdict

Best for young children who respond to colourful, close-range wildlife encounters in a contained, walkable space. The free entry and 20โ€“30 minute format makes it an easy addition to a Kowloon Park visit. Pair with the park's flamingo pond and outdoor sculptures for a longer outing.

โ„น๏ธ What to Know Before You Go

๐Ÿ’กCheck operating hours before visitingโ€”the aviary closes earlier than the surrounding park
โฐVisit in the morning when birds are most active and vocal
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธCombine with the flamingo pond and children's playground elsewhere in Kowloon Park
๐Ÿš—Bring a zoom lens or telephoto phone attachment for better shots through the mesh

โ€œAmazing, and completely free, canopy walk in the middle of town. You forget that you are not in a jungle. The aviary is huge and there are many different kinds of birds, from smaller sparrows, to orioles, to beautiful parrots.โ€
