1 / 5STAR CINEMA
📍 Tseung Kwan O, New Territories
MCL Star Cinema in Tseung Kwan O sits inside a mall connected to the MTR. Features large, soft seats that fully recline — a fold-up mechanism can swallow small children. Auditoria are on the smaller side. Wheelchair accessible throughout.
Nice and cool (don't just go in a t-shirt). Nice soft comfortable and fairly large seats (may lose small children when the seat folds up). We saw the film in a small theatre but it was a good experience. Lose one start because cinemas are so expensive.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for Tseung Kwan O families wanting the convenience of MTR-direct access and a comfortable seat without travelling to a larger multiplex. The oversized soft seats work well for adults and older children. Families with toddlers should hold the seat down manually — the spring-loaded fold-up can be startling.

“My first travel movie, it was Fast X. Expect to pay more for US blockbuster 120hkd in the late afternoon In 2D. Small screen and steps to get to your seat. Plus in a mall next to mtr , Spacious for crowds and AC should be on as its hot summer as I'm just in shirt and shorts. No problem with AC on arctic blast or winter fan. Minus Concession guy could more patient and Cheerful. As if I disturbed him from a nap.”

“As far as Cinemas in HK go this one is fairly weak. It fulfils its function but that's more or less it. Food is average, service is slow, screens are slow and there are no trimmings or additional services. Still it's well located and convenient from the MTR.”

“Nice cinema with comfortable sit. Most of the house is not big but ok. The ticket price is a little bit higher then those other MCL.”

Overview
Star Cinema occupies a mall directly linked to Tseung Kwan O MTR, making arrival straightforward with no outdoor walking. Seats are notably large and soft — reviewers flag the fold-up mechanism as something to watch with small children who may sink in. Auditoria run smaller than typical MCL venues and screens are compact; sound quality has drawn mixed feedback, with some reviewers noting subpar audio in certain houses. The cinema is fully wheelchair accessible with step-free routes throughout.
