Great public pool conveniently located near other public facilities, such as the gym/sports center, library, town hall, and MTR. The place is quite clean for being such a well-used facility, and staff are generally nice. Pool can get crowded, especially if there are classes meeting at the same time (lifeguard training, swim clubs, etc.). Shower and changing rooms are large. Remember to bring a $5 coin to use the locker (you use the coin to activate the lock, and when you're finished you take back the coin). Even through COVID times, I'm grateful this pool has water bottle refill stations - awesome!

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children who swim independently, as there is no dedicated toddler or shallow learning pool. Lap-swimming parents get a full 50m outdoor pool in good condition. The surrounding cluster of public facilities makes this a practical anchor for a longer Sha Tin outing, particularly on weekday mornings when classes are not running.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Bring a HKD 5 coin for locker deposit
Visit on weekday mornings to avoid lane congestion from scheduled swimming classes
🎟️In winter, call ahead to confirm only the main 50m pool is open before visiting with children
🚗Combine with the adjacent sports centre, library, or town hall to extend the outing without extra travel

Swimming area is huge! A lot of places for people to swim, the bathing area is also big, but the shower and changing stalls aren’t big enough.

Have visited a few times. Has a standard outdoor 50m pool. Spacious changing area. Facilities are well-maintained. 👍🏼 There are even a weight scale, a height meter, and a blood pressure equipment by the entrance.
