Hong Kong House of Stories
đ Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island
Ground-floor museum inside the preserved Blue House, Wan Chai. Guided tours take visitors upstairs through the living heritage building. Best for ages 5+. Free entry.
Situated on the ground floor of Blue House (a cultural heritage building), this not for profit museum is small and may disappoint those who come here just for visiting it. But if you can join the guided tour, the whole visit becomes much more interesting as you will learn more about the building, the neighborhood and even go upstairs.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for school-aged children and curious adults who book onto a guided tour. The gallery alone suits a 20-minute stop; the full guided tour warrants a dedicated visit. Kids aged 7+ will absorb the storytelling best. Not suited for strollers given the building's historic staircases.

Overview
Hong Kong House of Stories occupies the ground floor of the Blue House, one of Wan Chai's most recognised preserved tenement buildings. The gallery alone is compact, with nostalgic displays covering neighbourhood history and community life. The guided tour transforms the visit â taking families upstairs through the building's actual residential floors and delivering the context that makes local history tangible.
