1 / 2CRUX Boulder Gym
📍 Prince Edward, Kowloon
Indoor bouldering gym near Prince Edward MTR with slab, vertical, and competition walls. Routes grade from challenging V-grades with a community seating area. Rental shoes available.
Crux uses V-grades. I felt the routes were on the harder side, and would recommend this to more experienced climbers. They also have a comp wall, with very interesting problems. If I'm not mistaken, currently, the lowest grade in their overhang is a V3. I did find it to be harder than normal. Aside from the bouldering section, they have a huge area to relax, have a meal, and maybe do a bit of work.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teens or children aged 8 and above who already have bouldering fundamentals. The route difficulty skews toward intermediate and above — beginners will find fewer entry-level problems on the overhang wall. Slab and vertical sections offer more variety for developing climbers.

“Awesome gym and awesome staff. Here on vacation from Canada and dropped in, staff was kind enough to lend chalk. Grades are tougher than my gym back home, but maybe we’re just soft in NA. Great experience overall!”

“Got to try the soft opening session yesterday. Overall an amazing gym that's convenient, with plenty of space to rest and watch other people climb, and with some of the best route setting in Hong Kong. Access is easy with a 5 minute walk from Prince Edward MTR exit B2. When you get to the main Cite 33 building lobby, go around the corner to the right and you will find the entrance to Crux. The gym has tons of space to store belongings, two changing room spaces, and bathrooms. There are also a couple tables and areas to just chill. The climbing walls are all smooth wood, but the grey volumes have a slight bit if texture. Grades are clearly marked and range from V0-V10. In terms of routesetting, there is something for everyone and I would say it's very accurately graded - it's not too soft or too sandbagged. There are routes of all varieties from more technical climbs to burly overhanging, as well as an awesome comp style section.”

“Spacious gym with difficult yet intriguing climbs, less accomodating for beginner climbers with difficult climbs however the staff are incredibly friendly and supportive. Also their rental shoes are pretty nice mad rocks! Highly recommend for climbers looking to experience different setting styles and train whilst overseas.”
